Dream ride: Dirt park in Hungary
As Marco B. once sang: most dreams are deceptions. And yet, whoever searches, finds! Mxmag looks for the most beautiful, coolest motocross tracks in the world. Sometimes close, sometimes far away. We start our expedition to the coolest circuits in Hungary.
Initially, Dirtpark was going to be a MX park of approximately 20 hectares. From this original idea, this project evolved into a park of approx 80 hectares. In addition to motorcross, there is also room for a kids track, supercross, quads and mountain bikes (cross country & 4x). The roots of the Dirtpark lie with the local Komlo motocross club that has been active since 1986.

Dirtpark has been open for about 2 years now, but that took many years of planning and preparation. Naturally, nature was also taken into account. For example, a plan was drawn up together with the Hungarian Ornithological Association to protect the bird population. We are called upon to maintain the beautiful lawns sheep and a donkey!
As few concessions as possible were also made for the construction itself. The reputed Dirtwurx USA by Mark Barnett was responsible for the construction of the MX and SX circuits of Dirtpark. The MX circuit can be described as a kind of Washougal. Dirtwurx created a gem of 2000 meters that makes optimal use of both the subsoil (clay, to slightly sandy) and the rolling hills. The Dirtpark MX track is suitable for fast and less fast riders. In the future, Dirtwurx will also come to Hungary to evolve the circuit.
The SX track is also impressive, although it is not super technical by American standards and is more suitable for beginners. More difficult will undoubtedly not have been a problem because Dirtwurx makes all the circuits for the AMA Supercross championship. But for European riders, the Dirtpark SX track is an excellent introduction with the discipline. One of the best Hungarian riders ever, Kornel Nemeth is the ambassador of Dirtpark. This is also the fulfillment of a dream for Nemeth because as a child he learned to race on these grounds and his father used to coach there.
As you would expect from such a setup, the service and accommodation are also excellent. The track is carefully maintained every day, there are changing rooms and showers on site and there is also room for a campfire. This will later be supplemented with a shop, a restaurant, rental and maintenance, training and education opportunities, timing and so on. For those who want to go to Hungary to experience this unique park: Dirpark is located 200 km south of Budapest, and about 1350 km from Eindhoven.
