Preview FAM Final Sint-Lenaarts
After Limburg (Hamont) and West Flanders (Tielt), the final of the FAM championship will take place this weekend in the province of Antwerp. The place of appointment is the clay pit of Kraaienhorst in Sint-Lenaarts/Brecht. On Saturday, the youth under 14 years will compete, while the big boys (and girls) can start on Sunday, October 3. The organizing club 'vzw Antwerp Motorcross Clubs' and the FAM expect around 150 youth riders on Saturday, on Sunday around 450 to 500 pilots in 16 categories will compete for the coveted FAM title! Although Kenny Janssens is in the lead of the Inters MX1/3, he will certainly not take home the FAM title on Sunday evening. Janssens (read an interview with Kenny) will have to watch from the sidelines due to a back injury. The Honda duo Peter Iven (VLM) and Steve Seronval (MCLB) are joint second with 180 points. Christof Godrie (MCLB) is third with 177 points. Jelle 'Superman' Grade (VLM) is fourth with 170 points, but David Vantornout (MCLB) is also still in the running with 161 points.
Inters MX2: Wybo versus Verheyen
In the Inters MX2, Jurgen Wybo (MCLB) is in the lead ahead of Wesley Verheyen (VLM). Wybo's lead is 21 points, since there is a maximum of 120 points (twice 60) to be earned, here too the battle is far from over. We will also be looking forward to other trendsetters such as Marco Stallman, Marco Briers, Jonathan Banken and Ronny Van Hove. The points scale is as follows: 60/54/50/47/45/43/41/39
On Saturday there is special attention for the youth, all pilots present receive several gifts and souvenirs. The youth series starts at 14 p.m., prize sharing in the party tent on the course around 18 p.m.
On Sunday there are mandatory training sessions for all participants from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., competitions from 10:15 a.m. with a total of 26 series.
