Steven Lenoir and VAMO Racing Suzuki European champion!
The Zolderse VAMO Racing Suzuki team has concluded his second European MX2 campaign with a European title. VAMO Racing Suzuki leader Steven Lenoir, a sixth place in the first series was enough to secure the European MX2 crown. That first series was won by the French outsider Robin Kappel. Cedric Lieber managed to stay ahead of Lenoir with a fifth place, who was in turn followed by Julien Lieber.
Only Jens Getteman (14e) and Michaël Velkeneers (20e) to score points. Kevin Fors and Maarten Cremers had to leave early. From the Dutch side, only Stijn Blom was able to get into the points with an eighteenth place. Sander Bouwmeester finished twenty-fifth.
It was the Swiss Valentin Guilloud who was able to win the last round of the year in front of his own audience. However, that was not enough to take the overall victory. That went to the Italian Samuel Zemi who won ahead of Guilloud and Kappel. With three KTM riders on the final podium, it was also the Orange on top in Geneva! Jens Getteman became the first Belgian with a fifth place and managed to hold off Julien Lieber. Cédric Lieber finished sixteenth, Fors nineteenth and Maarten Cremers took the last point. Velkeneers Blom and Bouwmeester finished next to the points.
In the final standings of the European Championship MX2 Julien Lieber the best Belgian, the Suzuki rider, ultimately finished in eighth place, just a point behind the Italian Zemi, who finished seventh.
