Steven Frossard and Yamaha: finally official!
Just like in 2005, the Yamaha factory team will compete with three riders next season. In addition to David Philipaerts (MX1) and Gautier Paulin (MX2), Steven Frossard will have a second rider in the MX1 class. The 23-year-old Frossard finished third in the MX2 World Championship this year, won the Swedish GP and was on the podium five times. The Marseilles rode with CLS-Kawasaki for the past three seasons.
Steven Frossard said: “It's fantastic to ride for a team like the Yamaha Monster Energy MX Team in my first MX1 season. When someone like Michele Rinaldi and his team show interest, it is a great compliment because their track record speaks for itself. I realize that I will have to learn a lot about the bike and the secrets of racing in the MX1 class, but that doesn't deter me. I will work hard this winter to get as much out of it as possible in 2011.”
