Max Bartolini new team boss Azurri
Things continue to rumble in the Italian camp, in the run-up to the MXoN that will take place on September 26 in Lakewood, America. On Saturday, Andrea Bartolini announced that he is throwing in the towel as team manager of Team Italia. Bartolini sent an email to the Italian federation FMI stating that he regretted that politics apparently took precedence over sport. He refers to the “Maglia Azurra” affair that captivated the Italian motocross world for weeks. When the FMI changed tack last Saturday after consultation with Yamaha Europe and KTM, it turned out not to be to Andrea Bartolini's liking. Because time was running out, the FMI responded and appointed a replacement. Massimo “Max” Bartolini will therefore lead the Italian team during the Red Bull MX of Nations. Max Bart (left in the photo) now coaches young talent, including Dawid Ciucci, who finished 8th in the final standings of the European Championship 125 cc.
