Desalle fights off pain for heroic victory!
After his crash in Lierop, Clément Desalle did not get around to training last week, the Rockstar-Teka-Suzuki rider could barely even walk! After careful consideration last night, the MX-Panda decided to take its chance to secure second place in the championship. At the end of the first heat, Desalle still had to release the role, but thanks to a courageous performance in heat 2, he took the overall victory. Ramon (1-2) finished second on equal points with teammate Desalle. A reborn Sébastien Pourcel was among the fastest men on the track all day. The Kawasaki factory rider deservedly took his first podium place of the season.
Cold-blooded Ramon takes series victory in the first round
Despite a back injury, Clément Desalle seemed to be on his way to a stunt on the fast and hard Fermo in the first series. However, the differences were small and would remain that way throughout the match. Behind Desalle came a super-motivated trio of Sebastien Pourcel, Xavier Boog and Steve Ramon. Cairoli no longer played for the win, 'der Tony' had missed his start, was still strong but then injured his foot. It is said to involve the ligaments.
Ramon organized his race well and advanced from fifth place to the front. Desalle resisted Pourcel's pressure for a long time, but little by little Ramon moved closer to the leaders. First 'The Bomb' took Boog and soon after Pourcel followed. In a tense battle with three, Ramon had the longest breath, Boog came second, Pourcel third while Desalle had to settle for fourth place. Marc De Reuver neatly turned 12de. De Dycker came back from 21 after a bad startth to the 14de place.

Strong example of perseverance from the MX-Panda
Clément Desalle took the holeshot from Max Nagl, but Josh Coppins, who had started third, was also determined to end his last GP on a high note. In the second series, not only the GP victory was at stake, the places of honor in the championship were also hotly contested. Nagl doubled down once again because if he finished ahead of Desalle, he would take third place in the final standings and not Philippaerts. Nagl's attacks were countless and the 2009 vice world champion even passed Desalle briefly, but that one decisive one remained move from.
Ramon was a laughing third, but when the killer pace of the leaders started to take its toll, the two-time world champion had to let go. As in his best days, Pourcel had gone through like a knife through butter after a poor start. From eighth place in the first lap, Sébastien moved up to fifth place after three laps. He then defeated Coppins and Ramon, and after an exciting duel with Nagl he even took second place.
