Ramon rules on the Keiheuvel
On the Keiheuvel Steve Ramon has won the fourth stage of the MX Pro Series, the Belgian motocross championship. After victories in Beervelde and Kester, this is the third final victory this year for Ramon, who has a good chance of winning the national title. Ramon was flanked on stage by Marc De Reuver and Max Nagl .
In the first heat it was guest rider Antonio Cairoli who was the strongest. The reigning world champion let Kevin Strijbos lead for a few more laps, but then decided to give up. The Sicilian easily won the first heat ahead of Strijbos and Steve Ramon. Ken de Dycker gave up with technical problems.
In the second heat it was the German fast starter Max Nagl who took the lead first. However, he did not last long and was soon passed by Ramon and Marc De Reuver. These two played leapfrog for a few rounds, but in the end Ramon was able to close the gap and win the series.
Antonio Cairoli, winner of the first moto, crashed again after a bad start and gave up.
With this assignment, Ramon wins the final score ahead of De Reuver and Nagl. This is Ramon's third overall victory at the Keiheuvel and he is now one of the select group that can take home the Sylvain Geboers trophy.
With two more games, Ramon again increases his lead and seems to be on his way to his fifth national title. The next race will be held on August 29 in Orp le Grand in Wallonia.
