MX1 Transfer carousel
The transfer deadline is approaching in football, but also in the European motocross world the transfer market now seems to be evolving day by day...
Contrary to what many thought, it remains Aprilia will also be active in the MX1 GPs next year. By Joshua Coppins will be said goodbye anyway. The New Zealander signed a contract with the Australian top team CDR Yamaha from former rider Craig Dick. Manuel Priem told us in Orp that there is a good chance that he will remain in Italian service. Around the arrival of that other Italian (or should we say German) manufacturer, Husqvarna, to the MX1 GPs, almost the entire paddock is in the dark. However, there is a good chance that this will happen, if only because the MX3 World Championship will be classified as an amateur World Cup next year. Something that an ambitious manufacturer like Husqvarna is probably not looking forward to. Current leader Alex Salvini will more than likely remain part of the Husqvarna lineup. However, Husqvarna is looking for an experienced MX1 GP rider and, according to a paddock source, that could be the case Marc de Reuver can be called.
As for the occupation of the two official ones Honda teams, Martin Honda en LS Motors Honda, nothing has been confirmed yet. As mentioned, Martin Honda would like to Ben Townley to Europe, but nothing is certain for the time being. Dean Ferris also remains a possibility. At LS Motors Honda it looks like they will be launching a completely new line-up next year. Current leader of the Lierenaars, Tanel Leok moved to TM Racing, which offered him a lucrative contract. David Guarneri wanted to stay at first, but apparently impressed Kawasaki, who would like to see him as leader of the Bud Racing Kawasaki team. The northern Italian has a very attractive offer from the southern French team on the table.
The team out Lier wanted a Belgian leader. Reportedly coming Ken Dycker more and more prominently in the picture here, although there are also contacts with Steve Ramon en Joel Roelants.
At that other Honda team, the now poor one CASE Honda , the exodus has begun. Gareth Swanepoel, elected a minimum tryout contract of three AMA Nationals at Star Racing Yamaha above an extended stay with the British team. And also Evgeny Bobryshev seems to be heading elsewhere. The Russian is said to have several offers on the table. Despite the less than encouraging reports, CAS already has a driver for next year: Peter Redford. A 22-year-old Brit with a very meager record but a well-stocked briefcase. It remains to be seen whether Redford will also be deployed full-time in the GPs. A possible candidate to defend the colors of CAS in 2011 is Milko potisek. The Dunkerque native managed to impress during the past MX3 season. Nicolas Aubin has also been linked with the British Honda team.
When Kawasaki Racing Team it is after barragan en Bow waiting for a third man. In Orp it seemed Sebastien Pourcel, to have already found his motivation again. Is there any chance that Pourcel will still be allowed to stay? Or is Kawasaki also after Bobryshev? As mentioned before, people are beckoning Bud Racing Kawasaki fully towards Guarneri as a teammate Gregory Aranda in the MX1 team. Nicolas Aubin's days with the southern French team now seem to be numbered.
At Red Bull KTM it remains to be seen whether he will be next world champion Antonio Cairolli en Max nagl a third rider is released. Rui Gonçalves achieved his best MX1 GP in Brazil, but is that enough for a contract extension? Who would rather see KTM Gonçalves join a satellite team? Due to the disappearance of Silveraction KTM, it seems Ricci Racing to become a perfect candidate to run a satellite team for the Austrians.
At Rockstar Teka Suzuki lies alone Clément Desalle fixed for next year. However, De Waal received a good offer after his guest appearance during the AMA National in Unadilla American Honda. There they are tired of always having to play second fiddle and they see potential in Desalle as a leader. Desalle is contractually committed to Suzuki, but the question is whether the young Waal will once in a lifetime opportunity at American Honda. Desalle probably has a clause somewhere in his contract that allows him to buy himself out of Rockstar Teka Suzuki. If that is not the case, it is unclear who will drive next to Desalle. In Lommel they are still waiting for signals from Japan to draw up a budget for 2011. If those signals are favorable, the name Bobryshev will appear again here. There are whispers here and there that Bobry would pave the way for a Russian investor. Meanwhile, Teka also has Suzuki Marcus Schiffer conscripted. After all, Teka really wants a German in the MX1. For the time being, Schiffer will only ride the last two GPs and the last ADAC MX Masters matches. Provided Schiffer can achieve appealing results in Lierop and Fermo, a deal for 2011 can probably be discussed further. About the future of Steve Ramon For the time being, little is known. But a possible forced farewell to the two-time world champion would certainly be a major loss for the Rockstar Teka Suzuki team.
At Wallet phone Suzuki seems like the future of Kevin Strijbos insured. Despite the ONK MX1 title, the love story between Marc de Reuver and Beursfoon Suzuki seems to be over.
At TM-Racing makes Anthony Boissiere place for Tanel Leok who was there in 2011 next to his cousin Aigar comes true.
At Yamaha the cards are shuffled thoroughly. Rinaldi moves with support from Monster Energy David Philippaerts en Steven Frossard. Also Gariboldi would use an MX1 rider and the name is also circulating there Bobryshev.
At Van Beers Yamaha Nothing is certain for 2011 yet, but Jéremy Delincé was already associated with the North Brabant team. Also Herjan Brakke, who enjoys the support of Yamaha Motor Netherlands seems to be a candidate for an MX1 seat at Van Beers.
