MX2 Qualifying: Musquin wins, Jerre third!
The MX2 qualifying race in the scorching hot (and especially dusty!) Campo Grande became a French affair. Gautier Paulin was the early leader, but Musquin immediately followed him. Marv-Attack passed Paulin just over halfway. Yet the world champion was unable to pull away. Musquin continued to set consistent lap times while Paulin kept up the pace. Jeremy Van Horebeek felt well at home on the hard track and completed a strong qualifying after finishing fifth fastest in pre-qualifying. From start to finish, 'the Jerre' rode in third place. Roelants also qualified strongly and just edged out Ken Roczen for sixth place. Teka-Suzuki rider Arnaud Tonus equaled his best qualification of the season (GP of Sweden) and finished fourth. Kullas had to retire with mechanical problems, his teammate Charlier hurt his thumb.
