Introduction to the Ortema Neck Brace
They are sporty boys at the German orthopedic specialist Ortema. As a sponsor of, among others, the Teka-Suzuki MX2 team, Ortema has been motorsport minded for some time. Now the brand also has a full range of protection products specifically for motocross riders. The ONB, or Ortema Neck Brace, in particular caught our attention. This weekend we will subject the ONB to an intensive test, during the 12 hours of La Chinelle!
But we still want to give you the first impressions and the product description of this newcomer:
-Impact in a crash is diverted to the shoulders instead of the spine thanks to the horseshoe shape. Shoulders are stronger and less fragile than the vertebrae.
– Remarkably light, especially compared to most other neck protectors.
– Material is high-quality (quasi) unbreakable plastic.
– In addition to 'der Max', Xavier Boog, Arnaud Tonus, Sébastien Pourcel and Juergen Kunzel (supermoto) also ride with the Ortema Neck Brace
-By default, the ONB looks a bit boring in carbon color (tastes differ), but the Max Nagl Limited Edition in the photo looks cool!
– Easy to adjust the height thanks to velcro pads.
– According to Ortema, the distribution of forces works at its best in combination with the Ortema P1-Light. Quite a mouthful for an advanced back protector. The neck and back protector that are matched to each other must ensure that no impact spikes occur near the vertebrae
