EWC: transfer market 2011
The transfer carousel also seems to be in full swing in the EWC. Once KTM David Knight reinstated as a factory driver, left Ivan Cervantes the Austrian brand. It KTM Farioli factory team seems to consist of four drivers in 2011. Johnny Aubert earlier this year extended his contract with KTM for two seasons (2011+2012). In addition, also stay Thomas Oldrati en Eero Remes defend the orange colors. A final division of roles has not yet been announced.
Cervantes, in turn, found employment in his own country at Gas Gas, for which he will compete in both the EWC and the Spanish championship next year with an EC 250 2-stroke.
Cervantes' main rival in this year's EWC, the Finn Mika Ahola, seems to be on its way to renewing its contract with HM Honda extendable for one year. And that despite frantic insistence Husqvarna that would like to see an absolute winner on the new TE 449. It looks like the Finnish veteran will Juha Salminen switching from parent brand BMW to crew the new revolutionary Husky in the E2 World Championship.
At Beta then they hurry up again Rodrigue Thain. As a replacement for Thain, one would join TM-Racing have a French cross-topper in mind. No concrete names have been mentioned so far, but current TM Racing MX1 rider Anthony Boissiere seems to us to be a serious candidate.
In the meantime, Gas Gas has also secured the services of Christophe Nambotin, which will continue to be released in 2011 on an EC 300 in E3. There is also a whisper in the wings that Yamaha Italy would return to the EWC via a satellite team. Which riders the Italian Yamaha dealer Motor racing has in mind is still unclear.
