Jeremy Delincé returns from the party in Loket
After his GP debut in Uddevalla, we will also see Belgian promise Jeremy Delincé in action again this weekend. Delincé - who normally rides a Yamaha YZ450F in the Swiss championship for RB Racing - did well in Sweden and wants to show himself again in the Czech Republic on the JM Racing-KTM.
How do you look back on the Swedish GP?
Jeremy Delince: “My first GP went well, although the adjustment from the 450 to the 250 was not easy! It took some getting used to, especially during the first free practice. As the weekend went on, I got more and more of the right feeling. It certainly didn't go bad in the first series, I finished 15th. The riding was also okay in the second moto, but I paid the price for a tough week. I had been ill and at the end I broke down physically. But overall I was satisfied.”
Will you change anything about your approach in Loket, with what you learned from Uddevalla?
Jeremy Delincé: “Not immediately, I don't want to put too much pressure on myself. Going for a top time every session is pointless. I need some time to get into my rhythm. Now I already know the KTM SX250F, but you still have to pay attention if you constantly jump from the 450 to the 250! I just want to do my best.”
How did you estimate the GPs in advance, because that step is different for every rider?
Jeremy Delince: “I had set a top 15 target beforehand, and that was just achieved in the first heat. It would be nice to get closer to the top 10, that is possible. But in the World Championship all riders are strong and have enough speed until the very last lap!”
With two rounds to go you are second in the Swiss Open championship behind Gregory Wicht. Tell us more about your experiences in Switzerland?
Jeremy Delince: “Everything was of course new to me. The jobs are very different from what I was used to in Belgium. In Switzerland you almost always have natural meadow circuits, often on a slope. You have to get used to it. But there you have a free practice, then the qualifications and then two heats. This way you have time to get to know the circuit. The level there is certainly not to be underestimated. I am therefore very happy that I chose the Swiss championship this season.”
Is the Swiss title still available?
Jeremy Delince: At the moment I am 27 points behind, I won two heats, but also had some bad luck. There are three or four fast men so it's not just between me and Wicht. Julien Bill is also participating now. I recently suffered a knee injury that cost me some points. Still, I'm going to do everything I can and then we'll see what happens. I don't have everything in my own hands.”
