News about the German MXoN team
On the occasion of the fifth round of the ADAC MX Masters in Tensfeld / Schleswig-Holstein, team manager Olaf Noack spoke about the state of affairs for the MX of Nations that will take place on September 25 / 26 in Denver, Colorado. Last year, the Germans finished fourth in Franciacorta, Italy.
Noack can count on a good team again for 2010. The strong holders are of course vice world champion MX1 Max Nagl and Ken who will compete in MX2. It has not yet been definitively decided who will defend the German flag in the open class. Noack has nominated a number of drivers for that third place. Marcus Schiffer seems to be the most logical choice, but due to his persistent injury it is still questionable whether Slippy will be completely fit for the MXoN again. That is why Noack also takes the young talents Angus Heidecke and Lars Oldekamp into account. The verdict on the third driver will be announced at the beginning of September.
Besides finding the best staffing, Noack has other concerns. “Finishing our budget for the Nations is always a real feat,” Noack said. Without the support of the German Federation, ADAC Munich, Ortema and Stürm Racing team it would be impossible to go to the Nations.” With a budget of around €26.000 for the MXoN in the US, the team manager wants to look for long-term partners and sponsors for the German team. “In 2013 we will organize the Motorsport Olympic Games on home soil in Teutschenthal and then we must certainly be able to show ourselves at our best. As a good host, we want to give motocross in Germany the attention it deserves on this occasion! Especially since it has been since 1989 that the largest MX race in the world was a guest in our country.”
Noack does not want to say how far the German team will go this time in the US: “You have to be careful with predictions. After our success last year, expectations are naturally high. Don't make mistakes yourself and you need a portion of luck, that's what you need to score well. In Colorado, there are extreme conditions at high altitudes.
The week after Thunder Valley, Noack can compete again for the European Motocross of Nations (MXoEN) in Markelo, Netherlands, on October 2 and 3. Noack has nominated 5 riders for the European Nations Cup: Lars Oldekamp, Dennis Ullrich, Angus Heidecke, Dennis Baudrexl and Dennis Schröter. “A final decision will be made in a few weeks.” Just like last year, the Germans are also going for a young team in the Motocross of European Nations.
