Frossard ends orange dominance
The CLS-Kawasaki riders claimed a leading role in Uddevalla this weekend. On Saturday, Jeremy Van Horebeek won the qualifying race in Latvia last week despite a serious neck injury. Frossard was the best today with a nice victory in the series and a second place after Kan Roczen. Jeffrey Herlings (2-4) was on the podium again after a regular GP, but Frossard was the first non-KTM rider to win an MX2 GP. Compatriot Paulin (5-3) finished third on the podium. Only the first podium place for the sympathetic Yamaha rider who had one point more than Van Horebeek (6-4). A fantastic achievement for The Jerre, who is the best Belgian with a seventh place in the World Cup.
Frossard shows courage
Before the end of the first lap, hole starter Shaun Simpson had to give up the lead to teammate Herlings. Six laps later, The Bullet, who had problems with his glasses, was in for the effort. Simpson regained the lead, but Frossard had started to gain momentum. The Frenchman had passed Van Horebeek and Herlings in succession and put Simpson aside with a muscular action. Roczen had also risen in Frossard's wheel. Instead of an exciting showdown between Roczen and Frossard, Ken had to retire with two laps to go with technical problems, just like in Bellpuig. Van Horebeek finished third, Roelants was eighth and GP debutant Jeremy Delincé finished fifteenth.
Roczen's revenge
Frossard had an excellent starting position for the GP with the holeshot in the second moto. Roczen, however, was just a little faster and took home his third series victory of the season. Paulin recovered nicely from a mediocre start and finished third. Although he still had a lot of pain in his back, Van Horebeek still managed to finish sixth. Jeremy was so close to being on stage. Roelants recovered to eighth place after a poor start. Musquin (4-5) remains convincing owner of the red plate (83 points ahead of Roczen and Frossard), although the MX2 world champion had anything but a super weekend. Bad starts and not a good feeling with the circuit were the culprits.
