Tim Ferry stops!
35-year-old Tim Ferry announced today that he will immediately retire from motocross. Ferry was in trouble with a broken heel since the Daytona SX in 2009 and never reached his old level again. 'Red Dog' was never a super champion, but he was a popular and regular pilot who had a nice track record. Ferry won two 125 Supercrosses and 4 AMA Nationals. In 1997 he won the 125 East Coast SX championship.
In addition, he rode three times for team USA in the MX of Nations and won in 2007 and 2008. In addition, he also won the open class for Ken De Dycker in 2007 (Budds Creek). In 2007 he also finished 3rd in the AMA Supercross Championship. Ferry was a factory rider for Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki.
