Steve Ramon wins MX Pro Series in Kester
The second stage of the MX Pro Nationals, the Belgian championship, was held this weekend at the Kesterheide in Gooik. On this beautiful circuit, Steve Ramon (Suzuki) became the overall victor with a second place in the first heat and a victory in the final heat. Italian Davide Guarneri (Honda) came second and Kevin Strijbos (Suzuki) came third.
Despite the elections, the many spectators present witnessed a breathtaking first heat. Estonian Tanel Leok (Honda) made the best start and was closely followed by Davide Guarneri and Steve Ramon. These three battled for the lead for laps and in the end it was Guarneri who came out on top. He won the heat ahead of Ramon and Leok. Jeremy van Horebeek, who rode an MX1 machine for the occasion, finished fourth. Ken de Dycker gave up after technical problems.
In the second moto Ramon immediately took control. Kevin Strijbos took the fastest start, but after 1 lap Ramon came through first. He opened a gap and would no longer tolerate anyone near him. Kevin Strijbos came second and Davide Guarneri third.
After two tests, Ramon leads the standings with a two-point lead over Guarneri. Tanel Leok follows in third place with the same number of points as Strijbos.
