KTM MX range 2011
In addition to the launch of the SX-F 350, there was more to report about KTM's enduro and motocross line-up for 2011. Below is an overview of the main novelties and changes.
New evolutions for the SX-F 250
The development work that went into the launch of the KTM SX-F 350 also benefited the rest of the 4-stroke MX range. From 2011 onwards, all four-stroke dirt bikes will be equipped with the new frame, which is also equipped with a link system. The SX-F 250 gets an electronic injection on top. In order to keep the Benjamin of the four-stroke range as light as possible, the Austrian engineers have chosen not to equip the SX-F 250 with an electric starter. These new evolutions enable the SX-F 250 to continue to defend its leading position in the MX2 segment.
The SX-F 450, on the other hand, will continue to be fed via a classic carburetor for another year. But we suspect that the heaviest orange four-stroke will also be equipped with electronic injection from 2012.
However, no link system for the 2-stroke models (SX 125, 150 and 250). Extensive tests showed that the link system reacted significantly differently with a two-stroke power source. The PDS system therefore remains the preferred choice here.
