Win for Kenny Van Dueren in European Championship MX2!
Kenny Van Dueren turned out to be the best rider in the Portuguese opening round of the European Championship MX2. The DAM-KTM rider won the first series in Cortelha and came 2nd in the repeate. Van Dueren was joined on the podium by the Slovenian Jernej Irt and the German Lars Oldekamp. Alpha MX Team rider Jens Getteman came 2th in his very first European Championship MX7 racee. The only other Belgians who could collect points were Cédric and Julien Lieber. The brothers from Liège finished 20th respectivelye in 24. e.
The MX3 World Championship also started in Cortelha. Only 17 brave men signed up for this first competition. Among them the Chilean Alejandro Boellert and the Argentinian Victor Dario Arco. It was the Spanish ex-MX1 rider Carlos Campano who took both series victories.
