ONK MX Varsseveld: who will beat Jeffrey Herlings?
The circuit The Vennebulten in Gelderland Varsseveld is now the venue for the fourth match of the tournament on Sunday, May 2 ONK Motocross. In the hometown of success coach Guus Hiddink, in addition to the MX2 and MX1 classes, the women's class and the 85cc are of course also on the competition schedule.
The big crowd puller will of course be Varsseveld Jeffrey herlings. The 15-year-old Brabander waltzed last Sunday in Valkenswaard with such a show of power over his global competitors that one wonders who can stop him on his way to his first ONK MX2 title? The battle for the other places of honor promises to be exciting alongside established names such as Ceriel Klein Kromhof, Joel Roelants en Dennis Verbruggen we also saw new names emerge during the first three ONK matches. We are thinking about this on the Dutch side Mike van den Bogaert who occupies fifth place in the standings after three ONK rounds. Another surprise is “Quick Nick” Sad. The regular Belgian is currently third, but can still advance to the runner-up place.
Into the MX1 Marc de Reuver the intermediate score. The Beursfoon-Suzuki driver is thus fully living up to his role of favorite for the time being. His closest attackers, the Swede Tom Soderström and the 2009 champion, Patrick Rose, are already following at a respectable distance. In Gemert knew Kevin Strijbos with a series victory, can he do that in Varsseveld?
In the very first edition of the ONK for women it is Friesin Marianne Veenstra who sets the tone. Veenstra leads the way Marielle de Mol but in Varsseveld both ladies have to deal with their German colleagues Maria Franke en Steffie Laier. The latter became world champion last year and is therefore a fierce competitor.
Brian Bogers en Micha-Boy De Waal come to Varsseveld as top favorites in the ONK 85cc GRW. Championship leader Bogers only has a buffer of 2 points compared to De Waal. But both clearly outshine the rest of the starting field.
The competitions in Varsseveld start on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 with the first series for the women's class. More info at http://www.vamac.nl
