GP Mantova: Cairoli wins for his own people
Thanks to a dominant victory in the second MX1 series, Cairoli repeated his recipe from the Bulgarian GP: second in the opening race and victory in the second series. This time Tony had a good start and the three-time world champion was never threatened, Philippaerts came second ahead of Nagl and Desalle. You can watch all series in their entirety here.
A crash in the first corner claimed several top riders among the victims, fortunately without serious damage, namely Barragan, Leok and Pourcel. Desalle, who won the first heat, finished second in the GP and De Dycker fourth (4-5). Kevin Strijbos had a great start, drove a few laps in fourth, but was unable to take full advantage of that favorable starting position. The Beursfoon-Suzuki rider finished 12th. Ramon had to be satisfied with seventh place. Kevin Wouts' fighting spirit was ultimately rewarded with his first GP point of the season. Marc De Reuver had a disappointing Italian weekend, 'Calimero' finished 19th overall on equal points with teammate Strijbos. At the bottom you will find the daily result and the World Championship standings in the MX1.

MX-Panda gives Belgium its first series victory of the season
A lot cooler today in Mantova and due to the rain last night the track is also completely different. In MX1, David Philippaerts established himself as the man to beat and rode away from the competition in the first two laps. The Italian made a mistake and Desalle was able to take maximum advantage of it! The Belgian champion calmly controlled the match and won ahead of Cairoli and Nagl. De Dycker came back strongly after a mediocre start to finish fourth. Ramon did not have the best start and lost valuable championship points with a tenth place.
