First podium Herlings, GP for Musquin
After Shaun Simpson's holeshot in the second moto, Jeffrey Herlings took the lead. The Dutch super talent kept a cool head and seemed to be on his way to his first series victory, despite the pressure from Marvin Musquin. The reigning world champion had to do everything he could to beat Herlings in the very last corner in the final phase. You can watch all series in their entirety here.
As a consolation prize, Jeffrey was allowed on the podium for the first time in an MX2 GP. Yesterday Herlings also won the qualifying race. Roczen finished third in the second heat after a weak start. The Teka-Suzuki Europe driver finished third in the final standings. Van Horebeek was in a duel with Nicholls for fifth place when the Belgian went off very spectacularly. Dennis Verbruggen delivered a brilliant comeback. The Grobbendon native was 26th after the opening lap, but managed to finish ninth. Negaan-JM Racing-KTM teammate Roelants had to retire due to technical problems. At the bottom you will find the final standings of the GP and the World Cup standings.
