Van Doninck dominates in France
Remarkably few Belgians in the 85cc at the ONK in Mill. The talented Brent Van Doninck, on the other hand, was present at Chateau Gontier, for the first test of the French Cadet Championship. Just like in Valence, Brent was again too strong for the competition. Van Doninck was the best during the qualifications and won the three series. In the first series he won with a lead of no less than 18 seconds over Thomas Do. In the final heat, Van Doninck had to overtake after the leader in front of him got into trouble. Yet Brent also completed this job. Unfortunately, despite this fantastic performance, he does not score any championship points as the little Chauvinistic French prescribe that one will only be included in the championship after three years with a French license. Thomas Do and Nicolas Barcelo were allowed on stage.
Daymond Martens, tenth in the first series, Yannick Heylen and Stijn Hofman also managed to qualify yesterday. Here you will find the full results from Chateau Gontier. Next weekend the second Cadet test will be on the calendar in Chateau du Loir.
