MX1 Halle: lucky for De Reuver, bad luck for Keeno
After Herlings' revenge, Marc De Reuver also made his mark in the MX1. The Beursfoon-Suzuki rider won the two heats in Halle, although De Reuver was also able to take maximum advantage of Ken De Dycker's technical problems. De Dycker saw victory slip through his fingers in the first moto when he had to come in to refuel - at that moment he was in the lead. Strong performances from Roos and Advokaat in the first series with a fourth and sixth place respectively.
De Dycker didn't have much luck today because in the very last lap of the second series he even stopped with an empty tank. Ironically, this was just before the last table mountain. The CAS duo Bobryshev-Swanepoel now finished third and fourth. A strong Shannon Terrblanche (Sturm-JJS Motors-Kawasaki) rode herself into the top five of the final standings with a final fifth place.
De Reuver and De Dycker were joined on the podium by the Swede Söderstrom (Yamaha-Van Beers), who once again left a good impression today. After two rounds in the ONK, 'Calimero' also leads the MX1 standings, ahead of Söderstrom and De Dycker.
