Kevin Strijbos to Beursfoon-Suzuki
Today, Saturday, Kevin Strijbos signed a contract with the Dutch Beursfoon Suzuki MX Team. The 24-year-old rider will compete for the Hoofddorp team in 2010 in both the MX1 World and Open Dutch Championships on the Suzuki RM-Z450. For the Beursfoon Suzuki MX Team, 2010 is an important year with the aim of achieving the MX1 ONK title and a top 10 place in the MX1 World Championship. The team led by John Beijer will also compete with Marc De Reuver (WK MX1), José Butron (WK MX2) and talent Donny Bastemeijer (EK 125 2T).
Renewed collaboration with Suzuki
The commitment for the coming year renews the collaboration between Kevin Strijbos and Suzuki. The Belgian rode for Suzuki for almost his entire career. In 2007 he was vice world champion, 'The Kid' previously achieved five GP victories on a Soes. Kevin Strijbos: “Something still needs to be done conditionally, but I am convinced that I can compete at the front in the ONK and top 10 in the World Cup. I am very satisfied with this collaboration and together we will do everything we can to achieve the objectives. It also gives a satisfied feeling to ride again on the brand with which I achieved my best results.”
Team manager John Beijer: “Our sporting ambitions are very big. This winter we already had a unique opportunity to collaborate with Marc de Reuver. I have followed Marc since his youth and find him not only a great talent, but also very pleasant to work with. After this, Donny Bastemeijer was added, who in our opinion is also one of the Netherlands' biggest up-and-coming talents and we already had a contract with Jose Butron, the fastest Spanish MX2 rider. The picture already looks perfect! If you saw the opportunity to collaborate with Kevin Strijbos, I didn't have to think long and immediately took action. My thanks go out to the people of Suzuki Netherlands who also wanted to think along and quickly contacted Suzuki Belgium and Sylvain Geboers to quickly complete this deal with the other sponsors.”
Kevin Strijbos makes his debut with Beursfoon-Suzuki in the Open Dutch Championship on March 14 in Mill. You can find more information about Beursfoon-Suzuki here.
