The Bell legend continues
For more than 50 years, Bell helmets has been synonymous with high quality and safety. Recently, however, Bell has been less visible in the motorcycle sector. This is now drastically changing because the brand with the recognizable red letters is again focusing entirely on the motorcycle world. The best proof is the appointment of a new figurehead since last year: James Stewart.
Record holder in world titles
Of course, the highest possible standards are always expected from a superstar like Stewart, but in that respect 'Bubba' is part of a very special family at Bell. More world champions have worn Bell than all other brands combined! From motorcycle GPs, Supercross to MotoGP, racing legends everywhere have placed their trust in Bell. In road racing men like: Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and John Kocinski. The list of off-road heroes, with the famous Moto helmets, is no less impressive: Joël Robert, Steve McQueen, Roger Decoster, Eric Geboers (Moto4!), Johnny O'Mara, Rick Johnson, Damon Bradshaw, Chicco Chiodi, Jeremy McGrath (including Moto6), Chad Reed, Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart (Moto8)
Safety before everything
Bell's roots really lie in competition. In the 1946s, the young American Roy Richter was obsessed with everything that had to do with speed. Richter worked in a specialty car parts store Bell Auto Parts in the town of Bell, a suburb of Los Angeles. Richter also raced himself and built successful racing cars. With the sale of his personal racing car, he purchased Bell Auto Parts. In 500 he suffered a personal tragedy when one of his best friends died in a racing accident. From then on, Richter focused on producing safety and protection products. Successful again. When Cal Niday crashed heavily during the XNUMX Miles of Indianapolis, he suffered a cracked skull, but his helmet saved his life. That helmet was a Bell. Over the years, the reputation of Bell helmets grew even more, both on four wheels and two wheels. In those days you did not wear a helmet, but simply a Bell!
In 2010, Bell still uncompromisingly places safety as its top priority. Research and design work together to deliver top products. Externally, Bell helmets are distinguished by their innovative style without following the fads of the moment.
