The indoor season also ended this weekend in England. Guest driver Steven Clarke (MVR-D Suzuki) repeated his great performance from last week in Liverpool. Clarke, who normally rides in the US, won the British Open class and the International SX2 class. The young Briton showed that he is ready for the start of the Lites East championship on February 20 in Indianapolis. In the SX2, Clarke received a lot of resistance from two-stroke icon Cédric Soubeyras, but he still took the victory in the last lap. South African David Goosen came third ahead of Colton Facciotti. Later this year, Clarke will return to the UK with MVR-D to prepare for the American outdoor season.

Steven Clarke: “I can't help but be satisfied with my performance. The bike ran perfectly and I felt very comfortable both in the heats and in the two finals. I did go for it in the SX1 final, but I was just too tired from the previous races and all the traveling over the past few weeks! That's why I just rode it safe in the last laps. MVR-D-Suzuki has done a great job here and in Liverppol, I would like to thank them for that. I hope I have rewarded those efforts with my results!”
Double win for Facciotti
In the SX1, American veteran Heath Voss won. Gordon Crockard, plagued by problems with his glasses in the final, came second on an aluminum framed Sevice Kawasaki KX250. Canadian Facciotti (Yamaha) finished third. Enough for Facciotti to take the title in the SX1 class after the four races. The 21-year-old Facciotti (Yamaha) also took the title in the SX2. Country and teammate Kyle Beaton finished fifth in the SX1 open.
Despite a mediocre fourth place in the British Open, Crockard was crowned British Supercross champion. Crockstar: “It's a shame about my problems in the SX1 final, but I'm happy that I was able to win the open British title. It was really my goal to win the British SX Championship this year with Paul Bird Motorsport! The 250 Kawasaki performed excellently and it is a motorcycle that suits me very well. Thanks to the power of the two-stroke, you have more freedom to choose lines. I was able to choose tighter lines and thus overtake four-stroke engines that usually had to go for wider lines!”
