Endurocross Barcelona: Blazusniak!
With a fourth victory in the World Endurocross Championship at the closing event in Barcelona, Taddy Blazusiak confirmed his dominance in the discipline. The Pole had already dominated the American Endurocross earlier this winter. However, unlike the trial in Palau San Jordi, the enduro final was a spectacle!
More than 10.000 spectators watched home rider Cervantes double down to take the win. Cervantes did win a final, but the E3 world champion had to admit his superiority in Blazusiak and David Knight. That Knight, on a 250 two-stroke for the occasion, won a final and made an eager impression. Which could not always be said in the previous matches. In the final standings of the World Cup, Blazusiak, Knight and Ljunggren are ahead.
Tadeusz Blazusiak: “Today I lost my first matches in the championship, but I did take the day's victory. So that was positive. Moreover, I also won the championship, better than that is impossible!”
David Knight: “I have to admit that I didn't feel great in all races today. On the other hand, I managed to win a final and that's why I leave Barcelona with a good feeling!”
Ivan Cervantes: “When I drive in Barcelona it is always very special; a home race in front of your own audience. I am satisfied because I rode at my level here and because I still rode a good championship.”
