MC Mikkola duo chooses MX1
The MC Mikkola team has been a household name in Belgian motocross for years. The team houses both Flemish and Walloon riders in almost every BMB class. And that will remain the case in 2010. Although MC Mikkola is aiming a little higher than usual this year. We have already gauged the ambitions and expectations of team boss Heikki Declercq.
As a motocross fan through and through, Declercq is already looking forward to the new season. Especially now that expectations are even higher. Declercq: “After a successful BK MX2 in 2009, both our Walloon riders, Jeremy Delincé and Eric Foguenne, are switching to MX1. Not easy because they not only have to deal with more experienced and stronger competitors, but also have to master their new motorcycle, the Yamaha YZ450F. With the help of Yamaha dealer Leon Sagaert and the PPS exhaust center, we have now gotten the Yamahas running properly. The MX Pro Series takes precedence for both MC Mikkola riders. There isn't really a set target, but I think Jeremy should be able to achieve a top 10 place in the final standings. Foguenne, who competed in the Dortmund Supercross last weekend, is aiming for a top-15 finish in the MX Pro Series. In addition, we largely complete the ONK Motocross, although unfortunately both Varsseveld and Emmen are not very favorable. The remaining weekends will probably be filled with international competitions in our own country and France.”
In addition, Declercq is still working hard on a “project” for the side series in the BMB. “But until everything is conclusively finalized, I cannot say anything more about that,” concludes the MC Mikkola team boss.
