Jean-François Goblet to Yamaha
The rumor has been circulating in enduro circles for some time, but now everything has come full circle. Jean-François Goblet, the only Belgian to complete the entire WEC in recent years, will ride a Yamaha WR2010F in 450. The Liège resident can count on the support of Yamaha importer D'Ieteren Sport. Goblet is back competing in the E2 class.
In addition to all 8 WEC GPs, Goblet will also contest a number of races for the BK Enduro. However, Goblet's chances of winning a Belgian title seem rather small because no fewer than 3 BC competitions coincide with a GP. Goblet will compete in the annual highlight of the Belgian enduro, the 12h de la Chinelle. His teammates in that match will only be announced later. “Jeff” had a disappointing 2009 season with BMW Motorrad Motorsport. In the final standings of the WEC E2 he only finished 22nd. A technical problem forced him to retire during the first day of the ISDE in Portugal.
