Ben Townley is back, and in style!
After several years of injuries, Ben Townley now seems to be fully back. Last weekend BT continued its winning streak in the New Zealand Supercross Championship and took the title convincingly. A big relief for the 25-year-old Kiwi, as the level of this championship is not the least, including: Cody Cooper added. For Ben, the first part of his come-back preparation is now complete. In NZL he still rode a private Kawasaki, but this week he already went to California to test his new bike for the AMA outdoor season. Most recently, Townley found a spot with the Troy Lee Honda Team for the outdoor series, where he wants to compete for victories in the 450 class.
Until the outdoors start, the plan is for Townley to ride a few spring races in Europe and possibly also contest the first GPs. He may be on the starting lists, but nothing is concrete about where or in which team he would drive. One thing is certain: If he were to compete in these spring races, it would be a great asset to the European races, and it would also give Ben the opportunity to race against his old rivals.
We would love it!
