Wesley Pittens wins end-of-year trophy Lille!
Surprise everywhere after the third end-of-year trophy in Lille. Because Wesley Pittens from Vorstenbosch, North Brabant, was not exactly on the list of favorites beforehand. The only 17-year-old Pittens was with a 2de in 4. de post the most regular ones at the Inters! A great victory for Thierry's older brother. Although the Dutch Honda rider was also able to take maximum advantage of the points count during the end-of-year trophy, where the place corresponded to the number of points scored. In the final standings, Pittens had the same number of points as two-time world champion Sven Breugelmans, a better second series decided in favor of #338.
Breugel first series, Van Nooten second
Betemo acquisition Breugelmans had won the first series, but suffered from technical problems in the second series and also collapsed. The victory in that second series went quite easily to Jurgen Van Nooten ahead of Ovaa-Suzuki's Roy Gijsel. In the first heat, however, Van Nooten had to retire due to bad luck. After Pittens and Breugelmans, Marco Briers was on the podium in third place.
