Preview of the Lille end-of-year trophy
There is good news for those who are starting to feel a bit too much about the festivities this weekend. Get some fresh air and watch top-shelf motocross this weekend at the Lilse Breugelheide. In addition to a varied competition program, it will also be a lot of fun in Lille! There is a large, heated party tent where live music is provided on Saturday evenings. And there is also hot soup or for those who want something stronger there is gin. You won't be cold either, as fireplaces are placed here and there.
It is now the third year in a row that the End of Year Trophy is organized in Lille. One of the very rare Belgian motocross competitions in the winter months. On Saturday the youth series, the vintage cars and the quad riders will be partying at the Breugelheide. On Sunday it's time for the big guns with series for license holders (MX2/MX1-MX3), Pitbikes and Inters.
Strongly occupied Inters class
“Local Hero” at the Inters is Sven Breugelmans, after all it was his supporters club that started everything 2 years ago. In addition to the brand new BeTeMo-Yamaha rider, there are a number of other big names behind the starting gate in Lille: David Cools, Tom De Belder, Jurgen Van Nooten, Jelle Grade and Roy Gijsel.
In addition to these MX1 champions, a few strong MX2 riders will also participate: Kenny Van Dueren, Mark Boot and Marco Briers.
Big names in pit bikes
Ken De Dycker and Manuel Priem are the most striking names on the Pitbike participants list. But both GP riders can expect stiff opposition from two-time AMA Pitbike Supercross champion David Segers. On Sunday there is also a funny 'Crazy race', where everyone rides in costume. Ambiance assured! The entrance for both days is 12 Euro.
