Troy Adams wins 1st night in Munich
The contribution of the European drivers in Munich was clearly too weak on Friday evening. No fewer than four Americans finished in the top four. The victory went to 26-year-old Troy Adams (Honda), ahead of Jason Thomas (Suzuki), Kyle Chisholm (Kawasaki) and Heath Voss (Honda). Anyone who looks at Adams's record is not immediately surprised by his strong performance in the Olympiahal. Because Adams is one of those SX specialists who feels perfectly at home on the smaller Supercross circuits. After all, he was already on the podium twice in the US Open (Lites).
Cédric '2T' Soubeyras was the first European to park his KTM at five, but the Frenchman had excellent speed and was in the same rhythm as the Americans. Neither Jurgen Wybo nor Yentel Martens reached the final.
In the SX2 class, Czech Neugebauer (Kawasaki-Pfeil) rode to two victories. Ex MC Mikkola pilot Jack Brunell (Sturm-Kawasaki) finished second thanks to a second and third place. Frenchman Boris Maillard did well again in the championship with his third place.
