Langston signs for J-Law
Well-informed sources in the US yesterday reported the return of Grant Langston. And with the team of Jason 'jailbird' Lawrence's J-Law! The South African was American outdoor champion two years ago, but then fell into disrepair. Last year, 'Zulu' even quit during the SX season. The sympathetic Yamaha rider suffered from persistent vision problems and a serious wrist injury. He also missed Nationals and the entire 2009 season to recover.
Grant, 27, now feels healthy enough to get back at it. Langston will ride the revolutionary Yamaha YZ450F both indoors and outdoors. Previously, it appeared that Langston would form his own team with Sean Hamblin as a teammate. Hamblin made an anonymous appearance in the World Championship in 2007 where he rode for the British Swift-Suzuki team in the MX2. Now both Hamblin and Langston have found shelter at J-Law. Jason Lawrence would also compete in the 450 if he is free, while Ryan Newton will defend the team colors in the Lites West.
J-Law himself is also going in the right direction, according to his manager Scott Sepkovic. Moreover, No Fear MX has stuck out its neck by signing the rebellious Lawrence for 2010. No Fear already sponsored Jason during his amateur career and a little controversy never goes away. Who knows, we might see the 2008 West Lites champion at the start next year wearing No Fear clothing inspired by the jail outfit from Soutwest Detention Center…
