Mixed feelings for Standing Construct duo Jonass and Bogers
The second GP at the Afyon Motor Sports Center was very different for the GasGas duo. Pauls Jonass managed to do well with a fifth and sixth place. Brian Bogers did not succeed, but fortunately he managed to score a tenth place in the second moto. The Standing Construct Racing drivers tell their story here from sunny Turkey.
Paul's Jonass:
“It wasn't my best day but certainly not the worst either. I'm still suffering from my fall on Sunday, but when I'm on the bike it's fine. The track was very treacherous and so I didn't have much confidence in going all out. I decided to drive consistently and this worked out well with a fifth and sixth place. In the second moto I got the right lines towards the end of the moto but then it was too late. It's great that we are now going back to the sand for the next Grand Prix in Sardinia.
Brian Bogers:
“It was a frustrating day because in the first moto I crashed at the start. I was making good progress until a rock hit my nose and I was quite dizzy. I managed to get a few more points with seventeenth place. In the second moto I got a very good start but lost a lot of places in the first few corners. From fifteenth place I came back to tenth, which wasn't bad. It's a shame that I wasn't able to ride two good motos, but I'm satisfied with my speed in the second moto. We will hit back in the sand of Riola, I am really looking forward to that match.”
