DOne MX extravaganza has barely finished before the next one is upon us. This Sunday, August 8, the International Motocross of the Keiheuvel takes place in Balen!
When we think of a "Star Parade," we are more likely to think of "Tien om te Zien" or "Zomerhit," but KMC Mol was helped this year by a GP-free weekend. A decisive argument, therefore, to drop the traditional August 15th—which this year coincides with the Swedish GP. It doesn't get any tougher than this edition for an international motocross event!
Seven riders from the MXGP top 10
De Keiheuvel has an impressive track record. It is already certain that the winner—or whoever makes the podium—will be a world-class competitor.
Jeffrey Herlings, Romain Febvre, Tim Gajser, Maxime Renaux, Andrea Adamo, Kay de Wolf, Pauls Jonass. All are on the starting list in the MX1.
The unfortunate Lucas Coenen (photo above) is not riding but will be present for autographs and selfies. In addition to the aforementioned top riders, there are quite a few outsiders such as former winners Glenn Coldenhoff and Jago Geerts. Brent Van Doninck,
Ducati duo Tony Cairoli and Andrea Bonacorsi, sand hares Cyril Genot and Isak Gifting, occasional rider Kevin Strijbos, Sven van der Mierden, and VLM crowd favorites Brent Aerden, Enzo Aerden, Tyla Van de Poel and Joe Vandereyt.
Strongly contested MX2
In the MX2 – excuse me, the Inters 250cc – there is also quite a lineup. Liam Everts and Sacha Coenen are the home favorites. However, the Latvian Reisulis brothers also feel right at home in the sand.
In addition to these four factory riders, we should also keep an eye out for top talents like Jarne Bervoets, Douwe Van Mechgelen, and GP riders Kay Karssemakers, Maxime Grau, and Jens Walvoort. Add Dean Gregoire and young guns like Brent Van De Walle, Lars Huysmans, and Yoran Moens to the mix.
The experienced Yentel Martens will also make an appearance in Balen once again.
