NAfter more than a quarter of a century, one of France's most iconic indoor motocross events is coming to a definitive end. The organizers have confirmed that the Supercross of Lyon will no longer be held, closing an important chapter in French supercross history.
No future left at the Palais des Sports
The decision was not taken voluntarily. According to the organization, it has become impossible to continue using the Palais des Sports in Lyon under conditions suitable for an event of this magnitude. The permanent occupancy of the venue by ASVEL Féminin, combined with other events scheduled by the city of Lyon, makes it logistically and technically impossible to organize the match according to the trusted quality standards.
As a result, the curtain falls for good on the Supercross of Lyon, a race that for years was one of the absolute highlights of the French indoor season.
More than 25 years of top-level sport and spectacle
Since the first edition in 1999, the Supercross of Lyon has grown into a fixture in the French Supercross Championship. Year after year, both the best French riders and international top contenders came to Lyon, while the biggest names in Freestyle Motocross also provided spectacular shows.
The event built an impressive reputation over more than 25 years and became a fixed appointment on the calendar for thousands of fans.

In an emotional statement, the organization expresses its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Thanks are extended to, among others, the Moto Club de Lyon, the partners, officials, teams, volunteers, and of course the many riders who together have written the history of the Supercross of Lyon.
The loyal audience also receives special recognition. According to the organizers, the thousands of fans from Lyon and the rest of France made the event much more than just a race: an annual motorsport celebration that managed to connect multiple generations of enthusiasts.
Looking to the future
Although the Lyon Supercross is disappearing, the organization remains active within motorsport. The focus is shifting to the Salon du 2 Roues de Lyon, where the RFX MX Indoor and an international Freestyle Motocross show are once again on the program from February 11 to 14, 2027.
Moreover, the announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that the finale of the 2027 SX Tour will be held in Aix-en-Provence, ushering in a new chapter for French supercross.
