DIt is becoming increasingly impossible to ignore that Suzuki France has big plans for the upcoming French sand championship. After the official Suzuki France Sand Racing Team previously extended Camille Chapelière's contract and signed Belgian talent Tom Dukerts for the junior category, striking transfer news has now followed once again. This time, the TRP Moto Suzuki Team is making a major coup with the arrival of a former winner of the Enduropale du Touquet.

Suzuki France appears to possess a substantial budget and a clear long-term vision heading into the 2026-2027 season of the Championnat de France des Sables. The French importer of the Japanese brand continues to invest in talent and experience, and this is confirmed once again with a notable transfer. Earlier, the official Suzuki France Sand Racing Team announced that crowd favorite Camille Chapelière is extending his contract. Additionally, Belgian talent Tom Dukerts was signed for the junior category. Now, another strong move follows within the Suzuki family.

The TRP Moto Suzuki Team has managed to secure none other than Daymond Martens. The Frenchman has been one of the absolute benchmarks in sand racing for years. In 2013, he finished as vice-champion, after which he emerged in the following years as one of the fastest riders on the French sand circuit. Martens already made his mark in 2015 with an impressive second place at the Enduropale du Touquet, despite considerable setbacks. Two years later, he made history by winning the prestigious classic and definitively placing his name among the sport's greats.

For the 2026-2027 season, Martens will compete on a Suzuki RM-Z450 within the TRP Moto Suzuki Team. With his speed, experience, and knowledge of the toughest sand conditions, the team is bringing in a rider who can immediately be counted among the favorites for top results. Behind the scenes, too, nothing is being left to chance. The development of the RM-Z450, including the engine and suspension, is being entrusted to Thibault Roulier of TRP Moto. His technical expertise is intended to ensure that the machine's full potential can be utilized.

With Chapelière, Dukerts, and now Martens within the Suzuki structure, one thing seems clear: Suzuki France intends to emphatically compete for the top prizes in the French sand championship in the coming seasons.
