DThe international profile of the American WMX Championship receives a significant boost this weekend. Reigning world champion Lotte Van Drunen heads to the United States to showcase her talent at the prestigious Thunder Valley National in Colorado, where she will compete as a wildcard.

Lotte Van Drunen opts for American adventure

While Belgian brothers Lucas and Sacha Coenen are attracting attention with their wildcard entry in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, Lotte Van Drunen is also making the trip to the United States. The Dutch WMX star confirmed via social media that she will compete in both the Thunder Valley National and the subsequent round in High Point.

Van Drunen arrives in America with an impressive track record. The Dutch rider is currently defending her world title in the FIM Women's Motocross World Championship and is considered one of the greatest talents in international women's motocross.

Strong international field of participants

In Colorado, she faces tough competition right from the start. Van Drunen will take on former US WMX champion Lachlan Turner, the successful Australian champion Charli Cannon, and a strong American field.

Van Drunen's participation generates additional international interest surrounding the WMX races and offers a unique opportunity to measure her speed against the best female motocross riders in North America.
