DJan Foden and Noah Weinmann have won the Sidecar Motocross Grand Prix in Kleinhau, Germany. In two exciting heats, the British-German combination managed a narrow victory ahead of Prunier in second place and Vanluchene in third.
In the first heat, the English sidecars of Hodges, Wilkinson, and Foden took the lead, followed by Vanluchene, Hermans, and Prunier. Hodges would fall back, and Wilkinson would retire with a broken steering damper. Thus, after ten minutes of racing, the group of Vanluchene, Hermans, and Prunier was able to catch up with Foden, after which a fierce battle for the lead began that would last until the finish.
Vanluchene managed to take the lead from Foden, but in the final stages Foden cleverly squeezed past Vanluchene to claim the win. Vanluchene then had Prunier breathing down his neck; Prunier was pressing for third place in the final lap but just couldn't take over second. Hermans dropped back to fifth in the final stages, seeing Prümmer finish fourth.
In the second heat, Foden immediately took the holeshot, followed by Prunier and Vanluchene. A fierce battle ensued, making the opening of the second heat seem as if the first had never stopped. However, Foden was just slightly better than the rest. After battling with the pursuers for ten minutes, he steadily built up a lead and managed to win the second heat in Kleihau as well. Prunier finished second, and Vanluchene came in third, with Wilkinson in fourth and Prümmer in fifth.
