ALast Sunday, the MX 2 Inters / MX Open Inters lined up at the start for the sixth time in their battle for points in the Dutch Championship. This time, the battleground was MX-park Zaarderheiken, home of MC Venlo-Blerick. In the MX Open Inters class, Jamie Lucas was dominant and took the full 120 points.
Bob Ruijters needed only a fourth and third place in the heats to finish second. With this, he kept Ryan Witlox behind him based on the second heat. Stijn van Kessel and Demyan van Loon completed the top five.

In the MX 2 Inters class, guest rider Jesse Schel was dominant, winning both races. John Cuppen will be satisfied with two second-place finishes in the races, thereby taking the full haul in the championship. With a fourth and third place in the races, Jop Adam completed the podium. Fourth and fifth place were taken by home riders: Jenairo Beerens and Jippe Selen.
The MX 2 / MX Open Inters will be back at the starting line in Berghem on Sunday, May 17.
First heat
It was Van Loon who got the best start, ahead of Dean Schellen, Ruijters, Locus, and the German Maxmilian Lörper. By the first lap, Schellen had already taken the lead. Ruijters followed in second place, ahead of Lucas, Van Loon, and Lörper. Schellen's fun was short-lived, and in the next lap, he saw Lucas pass him. Ruijters could not keep up the pace and immediately lost ground. Behind them, Witlox was making a comeback and quickly took third place. Midway through the heat, Schel overtook Ruijters. Lucas was perfectly content with what was happening behind him and by then had built up a thirteen-second lead. Consequently, he rode to an easy victory in the heat. In the second part of the heat, Witlox and Schel passed Schellen. Two laps before the checkered flag, Witlox finally had to admit defeat to both men. Schel also passed Schellen and finished in second place, ahead of Schellen and Witlox. Ruijters managed to maintain his fifth place.
Second heat
It was Lucas who immediately made his intentions clear. He got off to the best start ahead of Witlox, Van Loon, Lörper, and Stijn van Kessel. By the first lap, Lörper had already lost his top-five position to Schel. After this, Schel continued his charge to take second place in the third lap. For a moment, it seemed as though Schel could keep up with Lucas, but nothing could be further from the truth. Lucas pulled further and further away and took the heat victory once again. Witlox quickly lost ground and was overtaken during the heat by Van Kessel and Ruijters. Behind Witlox, Van Loon followed in sixth place.
