BBen van den Bogaart will step into the sidecar with Marvin Vanluchene starting this coming weekend. Passenger Robbe de Veene injured his knee so severely following a crash during the first GP in France that he is forced to retire alongside Vanluchene. Ben van den Bogaart was still enjoying his retirement as a passenger in France, but following the unpleasant situation that arose at Team Vanluchene, he has now decided to re-enter the World Championship circuit. Starting this coming weekend, the 2018 World Champions will team up again.
For Marvin Vanluchene, 2025 was actually supposed to be his last sidecar motocross season, just like for Van den Bogaart. However, a nasty virus threw a spanner in the works of what should have been a fantastic farewell dinner. Consequently, Vanluchene decided to appear at the start in 2026 after all, with the Belgian Robbe de Veene alongside him.
During the preseason, everything went flawlessly until they landed crookedly after a jump during qualifying for the first Grand Prix, and passenger De Veene was thrown out of the sidecar, causing his knee to slip to the side. Thanks to De Veene's willpower, the duo still managed to salvage a considerable number of World Championship points in France. The very next day, however, it became apparent that De Veene had a serious knee problem and had no choice but to retire from sidecar motocross with a heavy heart.
Ben van den Bogaart, who watched the Grand Prix in France as a spectator, has decided to return to the highest level of sidecar motocross due to this situation. Together with Marvin Vanluchene, Van den Bogaart will form a duo starting from the second GP in the Czech Republic, and they will do everything possible to bring the Sidecar Motocross World Title to Belgium in 2026.
