OUnder difficult conditions, with persistent rain and a treacherous track, the top riders in the 450SX class delivered a high-level race. Ken Roczen kept his cool, rode strongly to victory, and thereby takes an important step in the title fight.

After necessary track maintenance, the 450SX Main Event got underway on a tough, muddy, and technical circuit in Philadelphia. Rain remained a decisive factor, resulting in little margin and constant pressure on the riders. At the start, Hunter Lawrence, Cooper Webb, and Ken Roczen immediately positioned themselves at the front. It was Honda rider Lawrence who took the holeshot, but he chose not to take the jump to the finish. As a result, his rivals Webb and Roczen were able to immediately reappear on his wheel.

In the second lap, Ken Roczen launched a well-timed attack in the rhythm section, before the whoops, and firmly took the lead. The German then began to extend his lead. Hunter Lawrence stayed close for a long time and tried to keep the pressure on, but saw his chances disappear after a crash. As a result, Cooper Webb moved up to second place, while Hunter Lawrence was able to continue the race in third, just ahead of Joey Savatgy.

In the closing stages, Roczen seemed comfortably on his way to victory, but he hadn't reckoned with Webb, who refused to give up. Lap after lap, the Yamaha rider chipped away at the lead, and with one lap to go, the eight-second deficit had shrunk to just one, barely worth mentioning. Due to the muddy, thrashed, single-line track, which made passing lapped riders a real painstaking task, Webb closed the gap to within a bike length, but Roczen held his ground under maximum pressure and pulled the victory across the line.

With this victory, he takes not only the win of the day but also the lead in the championship! Ken Roczen now has a 4-point lead over Hunter Lawrence with only two races left to play.
