NAfter his retirement in the second moto in Zijtaart, Liam Peeters has resumed his winning streak in the MX 2 youth class (MON). In Lottum, Peeters was dominant once again, securing his fourth and fifth moto wins of the season.

With this, he was able to take his place on the top step of the podium for the second time this season. With a fourth and second place in the heats, the Belgian Xander Vanschooren secured second place in the overall standings for the day. Trent Kosemans (Bel) took third place with a second and sixth place in the heats. Jan Kunz finished fourth and Joshua Steensels (Bel) took fifth place.

First heat

It is Kosemans who takes the holeshot ahead of Peeters, Wesley Messing, Mike de Wilde, and Vanschooren. After four laps, Peeters already has a fourteen-second lead over Kosemans. Seven seconds behind, Jan Kunz has climbed to third place. Behind him follow Ivan Kunz, Vanschooren, and Steensels. With this, the gaps at the front have been opened. In the remainder of the heat, the battle is mainly seen for places four through six. Peeters wins the heat with a 44-second lead over Kosemans. Third place goes to Jan Kunz. Behind him, Vanschooren manages to overtake Ivan Kunz to finish fourth. Steensels takes sixth place shortly behind.

Second heat

Once again, it is Kosemans with the best start ahead of Vanschooren, Peeters, Steensels, and Jan Kunz. Peeters doesn't take long to respond and takes the lead in the very first lap. Kosemans runs into trouble in the third lap and drops back to sixth place. Peeters quickly establishes a lead over Vanschooren again. Steensels and the Kunz brothers follow directly behind. Ivan Kunz overtakes his brother, and shortly thereafter, Jan Kunz has to abandon the fight for second place due to a crash. No further position changes occur at the front. Peeters wins the heat again. Vanschooren holds onto second place, just ahead of Steensels and Ivan Kunz. Jan Kunz has to fight for fifth place. He manages to create a gap with Kosemans in the final two laps.
