Dutch Masters: Two out of two for Herlings in Heerde

HThe large crowd in Heerde certainly got their money's worth! Superstar Jeffrey Herlings steered his Honda to two race victories, although it didn't happen without a struggle.

Less than 3 tenths of a second; that was how narrow the difference was between Herlings and challenger Kay de Wolf. Both men turned the first race into a true spectacle. Both Jeffrey and Kay had clearly come to win and rode away from the competition, with Romain Febvre in third place.

Although De Wolf increased the pressure towards the end with barely a second between him and Herlings, 'The Bullit' kept his cool. The pair lapped the entire field up to P10. Glenn Coldenhoff finished 4th ahead of Ducati duo Andrea Bonacorsi and Calvin Vlaanderen.

In the second race, Herlings simply delivered a repeat performance. In this form, he heads to the MXGP in Riola Sardo, Sardinia next weekend as the favorite. Febre, looking to find the right feeling with his Kawa, confirmed his consistency with P2.

Due to the absence of Brent Van Doninck (ankle injury), Alberto Forato was the only Fantic factory rider today. After a poor start in the first race, the likeable Italian took sporting revenge. Starting third, he also finished third, ahead of De Wolf, Vlaanderen Bonacorsi, and Coldenhoff.
