VLM Lommel: Brent Aerden wins both series of inters

DThe Bietekwieten had the weather on their side for the season opener in Tessenderlo. The first round was particularly exciting, but ultimately, Brent Aerden was the big winner in the Inters 500 today.

In the first series, Brent Arden immediately the holeshot for his brother Enzo Aerden en Jiliani CambreEnzo, however, had to abandon the race early on due to a technical issue, leaving Brent in sole command ahead of MC Stroeckxvrienden. A fierce battle developed behind him: Dietger Damiaens took over second place and quickly got into a fight with Nolan Cordens en Glenn Bielen.

Brent Aerden easily maintained his lead at the front, but on the final lap, Nolan Cordens forced him into a sprint! Ultimately, the difference was less than two seconds. Glenn Bielen finished third, Dietger Damiaens fourth. The revelation of the series was Tyla Van de Poel on five. Furthermore, Jiliani Cambre (6) Ryan Van Hove (7) and the fastest 250cc rider Dieter Vromans (8) the top ten, followed by Boyd Van Endert en Jamie HaanenIn the B-class was Joe Vanderreyt the series winner, although he dropped to fifteenth place – he could nevertheless have maintained himself in the top ten for a long time.

The second series started dramatically: at the start Jiliani Cambre en Nolan Cordens involved in a crash. For Cambre, that meant the end of the day. Cordens had to fight his way back from the very last position. Brent Aerden took the lead again, this time ahead of a recovered Enzo Aerden. Dietger Damiaens tried to displace Enzo from second place, and also Tyla Van de Poel was again on the ball with a fourth place. Glenn Bielen, initially fifth, had to abandon the race with a flat tire. Brent Aerden thus also won the second race.

Meanwhile, Nolan Cordens made an impressive comeback: he fought his way back to fifth place. He certainly moved heaven and earth for his new main sponsor. VH Cross ShopThis earned Nolan the third step on the final podium after Brent Aerden and Dietger Damiaens.
