TWhen Lotte van Drunen set the fastest time in qualifying, her fellow male drivers immediately knew who was the driver to beat in their class. And Lotte, with a double heat victory, left little doubt about that.
Lotte van Drunen's lap chart, competing in the men's 125 class for the occasion, was a solid line at the very top. At the start of the first race, she started so fast that Torre Van Mechgelen and Shana van der Vlist were so startled that they fell back into the pack. Dex Kooiker and Mike Plaas took over second and third. Ryan Oppliger would sail past Plaas on the next lap. A lap later, Timo Heuver traded his eighth place for third and then battled with Kooiker. He held on to second place for six laps, but Kooiker reversed the roles two laps from the end. The never-fazed van Drunen finished with a lead of almost half a minute. Oppligger remained fourth ahead of Sem Van Helvoirt. The best Belgians were Seth Priem and Vince Van Hoof in eighth and ninth.
There was little excitement in the second heat. Lotte pushed hard and was completely out of the woods. Kooiker and Lucas Leok were now second and third, respectively. Opligger was the first to do so, but it was Heuver again who opened up the race. Timo took a breather after the first few moves but still managed to close in on the others in front. Within two laps, he flew past Leok and Kooiker into second place. Inspired by this, Opligger also persevered, taking third place from Kooiker and Leok. Van Mechgelen finished ninth and Arthur Decouter seventeenth.
The consolation race for the non-qualified was for Damian Bergevoet.
Final score (unofficial): 1. Van Drunen 50; 2. Heuver 42; 3. Kooiker 40, 4. Oppliger 38, 5. Leok 31.
