BAt KTM, expectations are high for our compatriots Lucas and Sacha Coenen this season. Davide De Carli, team manager of the official KTM team of the same name in the MXGP World Championship, makes no secret of his enthusiasm for the twins.
"The winter was great!" De Carli begins. "Lucas and Sacha first rode a bit in the US, after which they returned to Rome for a few good weeks of testing. Then came sand testing, before we headed to Sardinia, where we're currently staying to finish our preparations."

The Italian team manager is convinced that our young compatriots will be even stronger this season. "I think they've both taken a step forward. They've gotten a year older and have therefore automatically gained in maturity. We hope Sacha can show more consistency this season, and we're working specifically on that. He's still exceptionally fast, of course, but right now we're putting extra emphasis on technique."

As for Lucas, after a first MXGP season that exceeded all expectations, De Carli expects to see him shine again in the premier class of global motocross. "This will be his second year in MXGP, and I'm convinced he'll benefit fully from the experience he gained last season. He showed excellent speed in 2025 and undoubtedly learned a lot from the highs and lows he experienced. We really want to put all the pieces together so we can bring home two titles."
