NHusqvarna factory rider Kay de Wolf will move up to MXGP in 2026, as expected. This marks the next step in an already impressive career for the 21-year-old Dutchman.

Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing is pleased to announce that Kay the Wolf, 2024 MX2 world champion and twofold MXoN MX2 winner, will also remain with the team in 2026. He will then exchange the MX2 for the MXGP. Kay switches to the Husqvarna FC450, the brand's flagship, thus continuing a successful partnership that has defined much of his GP career.

Since joining the Husqvarna family in 2019, De Wolf's rise has been nothing short of spectacular. From his early years in the EMX125 to his dominance on sand circuits across Europe, combining precision, aggression and technical mastery to become one of the sport's most exciting talents.

With seven GP victories, twelve stages and the MX2 world title At just 20 years old, he made history. In 2025, De Wolf confirmed his class again with seven GP victories and a second-place finish in the World Championship after a nerve-wracking battle for the title.

His success extends beyond the World Championship. De Wolf is multiple Dutch Masters of Motocross champion and represented Team Netherlands twice on the Motocross of Nations, where he contributed to a third-place finish for the team in 2024 and won the MX2 class. A year later he repeated the feat and conquered the prestigious MXoN Gold Plate 2025.

Kay de Wolf – Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing:
This is a very special moment for me. Moving up to MXGP with Husqvarna—the team that has been my home since I turned pro—feels like the next logical step. We've experienced so much together in MX2: wins, podiums, a world title, and countless lessons along the way. The FC 450 is a fantastic bike, and I already feel at home on it. Of course, MXGP is a huge challenge, but I'm ready for it. I want to learn from the best, keep growing, and show what we can achieve in the premier class.

Rasmus Jorgensen – Team Manager Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing:
It's truly remarkable to see how Kay has developed over the years. From his first days in EMX, we saw his unique blend of speed and tenacity – precisely what led him to an MX2 world title and countless top results. The move to MXGP is a big step, but we have no doubt he'll adapt quickly. His work ethic, mindset, and connection with the team are exceptional. 2026 will be a learning year on the 450, but anyone who knows Kay knows he'll quickly be fighting at the front.
