Lucas Leok takes the title early with the maximum score in Bitche. Nico Greutmann celebrates his first victory of the season in the ADAC MX Youngster Cup. Mads Fredoe is the new leader in the Youngster Cup.
ADAC YOUNGSTER CUP
The Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna team made their mark on the ADAC MX Youngster Cup this weekend. In the first race on Saturday, Liam Owens (AU) took the lead with the Red Bull Holeshot. Maximilian Ernecker (A/SixtySeven Racing Husqvarna) took the lead on the opening lap, but Owens reclaimed it on the second lap and secured his first moto victory of the championship. Nico Greutmann and Maxime Grau (F/WZ-Racing KTM) followed in the other positions.
In the second race on Sunday, Jan Krug (D/SixtySeven Racing Team Husqvarna) took the lead at the start. However, on the opening lap, he was pushed down to third place by Greutmann and Mads Fredsoe Sorensen (DK/Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna). Greutmann and Fredsoe clearly distanced themselves from the rest of the field in their battle for the lead. Fredsoe stayed close to Greutmann throughout the race, but the Swiss rider maintained control and also took his first moto win of the year, ahead of Fredsoe and Krug.
Motivated by this victory, Greutmann also won the third race with a start-to-finish victory, again ahead of Fredsoe. Owens completed the team's result with a third-place finish. Greutmann, Fredsoe, and Owens also secured the top three positions in the overall standings of the event. Fredsoe thus took the championship lead from Bradley Mesters (NL/Kosak Racing Team), who had a difficult weekend with a 13th-place finish, and Grau.
"I didn't have a fantastic weekend, but I did have a very solid one. I'm satisfied and very happy with the 'Red Plate,' especially since I missed the start of the season in Fürstlich Drehna due to an injury," said Fredsoe.
"I've had to wait a long time for my first victory this year. I've had a lot of bad luck so far, but this weekend everything clicked. Our team principal, Hans Ruedi Berger, was there in person today, so it's especially great that we achieved such an excellent team result. I'm already looking forward to the finale in Holzgerlingen," beamed Greutmann.

ADAC JUNIOR CUP 85
Lucas Leok secured the title with a strong weekend, just one race shy of the season finale. Leok was unbeatable in Bitche, winning both qualifying and all three races. He faced the biggest battle in the second race, where he only managed to overtake the lead from Gregor Lootus (EST/KTM) halfway through. With a start-to-finish victory in the third race, Leok sealed the title.
Lootus impressed in his debut in the ADAC MX Junior Cup 85. He finished second in the first two races. He was also in second place in the third race before a crash set him back. Nevertheless, his tenth-place finish in the final race was enough for second place in Bitche, behind Leok.
Marten Raud (EST/MX-Handel Husqvarna Racing) secured an all-Estonian podium with three consistent races and results four, five and four.
Good news from a German perspective: Luca Frank (GER/Becker Racing) finished third in the first race, and Luca Nierychlo (GER/KTM MX Futures) rode to third and second place in the following races after a retirement in the first race. Second-placed Jarno Jansen (CH/SixtySeven Racing Husqvarna) improved his performance over the weekend after finishing eighth in the first race and finished the third race in third place. Jansen remains in second place in the standings, ahead of Harry Dale (GB/KTM MX Futures).
"Winning the title feels good, and the pressure is off now. I had three good starts and races. It's fantastic to seal the title with a start-to-finish victory. I'm thrilled," Leok cheered.
